November 2008 Newsletter

As the nights grow longer and temperatures drop, we are reminded that winter is quickly approaching. This is the time to get those flu shots. Please contact your Primary Care Physician (PCP) or a community clinic to get your shot early. It could save your life!

We have added someone new to our office. Jena Luker-Voisard, RN has joined our Yankee Street office as Special Procedures Nurse. Welcome aboard!

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during our trials and tribulations during September and October. Hurricane Ike’s strong winds did some severe damage to the area. The north office power was out for three days and the south office electric was out for one day. We have done our best to re-schedule those patients’ appointments that were affected. Scheduling has also been challenging because we changed the computer practice management system. It has been a stressful time for everyone, and we appreciate your patience. Please contact the office if you have any questions about an upcoming visit.

Slowly, we are transferring the physicians to EMR’s (Electronic Medical Records). By the end of this year, three of the doctors’ records will be converted to electronic. This, too, has been a challenge as we all become acclimated to the change. When completed, we will be able to access medical records at any of our locations and questions during telephone calls should be able to be answered in a timelier manner (no longer need to find the chart to answer questions).

In the last quarter’s newsletter, it was stated that some exciting news might be coming. Well, we are happy to announce that a new physician is planning on joining the practice in August 2009. Craig Peters, D.O., is presently completing his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arizona. Let’s prepare to welcome Dr. Peters to the buckeye state this next summer.

And finally, everyone here at Cardilogy Specialists of Dayton wishes you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!

Until 2009……………………………….
