We are also pleased to announce that our transition to Electronic Medical Records in really coming along. Four of our five physicians are now using the EMR system to its fullest.

We would like to inform everyone that John Kraft P.A.C., will be leaving us to return to working in Cardiovascular surgery. His last day with CSD will be on May 15, 2009. John will truly be missed by staff and patients alike. We wish him all the best in his new endeavor.

The hot summer weather is fast approaching and we would like to remind everyone of the importance of staying hydrated when working outside, exercising or just enjoying the sun. All of these activities speed up the loss of body water, with dehydration close behind. Even minimal dehydration can negatively impact your physical and mental performance.
Along with trying to stay cool, you need to be sure you drink enough fluids. People often blame the heat when they start to get headaches, light-headedness and fatigue. These are often the first signs of dehydration, even if you are not thirsty.

Here are some tips for keeping hydrated:
- Have a glass of water when you first get up in the morning.
- Keep a glass of water next to your bed.
- Enjoy herbal tea in the afternoon or evening.
- Carry water with you if away from home for long periods.
- Drink before you get thirsty.
- Limit sugary, caffeinated beverages.
- Choose drinks with 10 or fewer calories.
- Know the signs of dehydration. Some signs:
(dry mouth, flushed skin, headaches, lightheadedness or fatigue)
- The BEST choice for fluid is WATER.

Have a wonderful and safe summer from all the CardioSD staff.
