CardioSmart: CardioSmart is a patient education site of the American College of Cardiology whos mission is to engage, inform, and empower patients to better prepare them for participation in their own care.

American Heart Association: Learn more about diseases and conditions that affect your heart from the American Heart Association. Concise explanations of hundreds of terms arranged from A-Z contained in the AHA Heart and Stroke encyclopedia are found here.

Food Certification Program: This site is a new component of the American Heart Association resource designed to help patients plan a heart healthy daily menu. Visitors can use an interactive tool to compose a grocery list of certified products and print it to use while shopping.

Mayo Clinic Website: Medical and health information and tools from the Mayo Clinic are available. Exercise enthusiasts will find a series of interactive tools, including a target heart rate calculator and fitness quiz.

American Diabetes Association: The latest diabetes news from the American Diabetes Association can be found here.

CHF Patients Website : Operated under the Health on the Net Foundation patients with congestive heart failure have access to a variety of educational resources, treatment options, medication and diet.

Guidant Website: This site offers one of the most easily understood explanation of the anatomy of the heart and circulatory system. It is highly recommended for healthy patients as well as those with cardiovascular disease.

Deep Vein Thrombosis: This is a patient friendly site for information on thrombosis with printable guides to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

National Library of Medicine: The National Library of Medicine’s program is designed to help patients slated for heart valve replacement to help understand the procedure they will undergo.

Surgeon General: The latest information to help people quit smoking is accessed here.

American Lung Association: American Lung Association site has the latest information and treatment of a variety of conditions affecting your lungs.

Coumadin Website: This site gives the latest information for patients on blood thinners such as Warfarin also known by the trade name Coumadin.
